Lokanayak Omeo Kumar Das, the pioneer force behind the establishment of this college was a great educationist who envisaged the need of Higher Education among the youth of the locality. His determination against all odds to bring the college into existence culminated in what we have today, a gem of an educational institution which have enlightened many a minds till date.

Dear students, thank you for choosing our college as your choice of Higher Education. As you might be aware that Lokanayak Omeo Kumar Das College is one of the oldest institutions in Sonitpur, Assam. Today the college has sprung up to be the best pioneering center for academic excellence. Affiliated to Gauhati University, the college provides not only a good education but also provides education, training and counselling in many extra-curricular activities that range from NCC, Indoor Sports and Open and Distant Learning

LOKD College is equipped with the latest amenities and resources required for the overall development of a student. From a large equipped library having more than 30000 literature comprising of books, journals and newspapers, an indoor stadium, NCC facility, a large sports fields and green sprawling premises to Modern Science Labs with Hi-Tech equipment, the college provides an ambient atmosphere for the well-being of its students.
